Awesome Chicks Awesome Cauliflower & Broccoli Soup
May 8th 2008 13:12
Alright people listen up; this recipe is from Awesome Chick. She’s pretty awesome... not quite as awesome as Awesome Dude, but awesome enough to warrant the use of the word awesome.
Awesome Chick doesn’t get in the kitchen much, which goes against tradition, because all women belong in the kitchen... So every now and then I let her fulfil her duties as a woman and scream at her to get in the kitchen, which she does, and this is what she cooks.
What you need-
600gm cauliflower florets
600gm broccoli florets
2 red onions
1 litre of milk
500ml of vegetable stock
150gm grated tasty cheese
300ml of light cream
2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
Sprinkle of paprika
Slosh of extra virgin olive oil
Salt N pepper
Alright this feeds four with some leftover for the next day, so if you think it’s too much, then halve the recipe.
What you do-
Heat up a big pot, slosh in some olive oil, throw in your onion (chopped) garlic (crushed) and cauliflower and broccoli florets, fry that up for a few minutes, stirring constantly, add flour. Fry for a minute longer. Then throw in the stock and milk, bring to the boil stirring constantly. Lower the heat and simmer for twenty minutes.
Take it off the heat let it cool for a couple of minutes then whack it in a food processor, buzz it up until it has a smooth texture. Transfer it to a clean pot.
Now put in the cream and grated cheese, sprinkle some paprika, season with salt n pepper. Then heat it up stirring until just under a boil. (Don’t let it boil, the cream may curdle)
Serve with some crusty bread.
Fun fact No4- Friends is the worst TV show ever. (its so fucking lame)
