Awesome Dude Reviews Customs House Hotel Williamstown

Customs House Hotel Williamstown

Alright people, Awesome Dudes being quite lazy lately and hasn’t cooked anything of significance. He did go out for dinner though, so he thought he might do a review.

Customs House Hotel Williamstown.

Basically a nice old pub, but with a monstrous menu. They specialise in seafood but they also have a big range of steaks. If you know Awesome Dude, then you’ll know when Awesome Dude goes out for a meal, he seldom gets anything other than a steak.

The thing about the Customs House Hotel in Willy is which steak to get.

Let me run through them for you-

Prime Rib Eye 400gm
26
Porterhouse Centrecut 350gm
25
Angus Rump Steak 350gm
25
Eye Fillet 300gm
25
Fillet Mignon 300gm
27
Sizzling Prime Rib Eye 600gm
36
Highlander Rump 700gm
30

Alright, do you see what I mean? Now I bet you’re wondering which steak I got, and I can tell you it took me awhile to decide. After deliberating with Awesome Chick for five minutes the consensus was she didn’t really want to watch me eat 700gms of steak.(I will be back to conquer the Highlander, that’s for sure)

I am quite partial to a Fillet Mignon too, because steak wrapped in bacon, well that’s just heaven on a plate. The one I did go for though is one of my favourite cuts, the mighty Rib Eye. Now I didn’t get the 600gm one apparently it takes longer to cook and well there was a little bit of bitchin’ n moanin’ coming from the other side of the table so I was forced to go the 400gm Prime Rib Eye.

So back to the Customs House Hotel, very good service except for one chick who had the brain capacity of five year old, but the rest were excellent.

We did catch a glimpse of the seafood dishes and they did look nice, especially the Seafood Platter for two. 60 bucks and it looked very fresh.

Awesome Chick was very adventurous and got a Chicken Parma. Now I’m not big fan of the Parma, never order one in my life. I do make a Chicken Parma at home and mine is spectacularly awesome. (my Parma recipe will be up soon)

My 400gm Prime Rib Eye was cooked medium rare with Mushroom Sauce and Chips and Salad. (I love Mushrooms Sauce)

Alright, so nice place to eat, good menu lots of things to choose from and good service. 7/10
Prawns

Now this is my first review so 7/10 is the par score at the moment.

Nomad,

I picked it! I picked you had the Prime Rib Eye 400gr....ummm...so wotz mah prize duuuude?

Ok, so I have eaten down Williamstown way, it is a lovely spot, I lived in Melbourne, in Eltham, for 10 years, and when I got to Williamstown one day, it tugged at the heart strings, it reminded me of home, Sydney, as I used to live right on the harbour.

Anyhoo, I had afternoon tea at the old pub there once, and I ate at some joint there, it had an upstairs outside area, very nice too...can't remember what it was called, but my friend from England loved it, eating looking at the yachts moored in front.

cheers and I am about to serve up my special roast chicken, with herb, garlic, salt and peppered roast potatoes and sweet potato, and mint peas on the side...baby yeeeeaaaahhh!!!! and gravy...this time...we didn;t forget the gwayvee...remember that cartoon scene?

sorry fog no prizes, just a virtual pat on the back.
williamstown is a great little spot, we live in the cheaper suburb next to willy called newport, just a five min drive. great views of the city and like you said the yachts, and its got alot of history. dont know the place you're speaking of but yeah there is lots of nice places to eat.

Roast chicken sounds good, especially the two types of potato.

keep the gravy train flowing Fog
