Awesome Dude... who put the corn in corned beef? (recipe)

November 5th 2008 09:09
Alright molls, we’re cooking an old family favourite today, Corned Beef with white sauce.

Man I am so awesome, whatever I do I just rule at it, I just bring the awesome wherever I go. I’m like “yo awesome are you comin”? and awesome’s like “yeah man I’ll be there” and then I say “awesome”. Then chicks just run from everywhere to get a piece of Awesome Dude.

What you need-

300gm of awesome
1.5 kilo corn beef
Few bay leaves
One onion
Couple of cloves of garlic
Tablespoon of mustard powder
Bout a ¼ of a cabbage
5 potatoes
Couple of carrots

Olive oil
Salt n pepper

White sauce-

2 tablespoons of corn flour
2 tablespoons of butter
One cup of milk
Salt and pepper

What you do-

Alright I just get the corned beef from the supermarket and it’s in that weird brine type shit, so what you do is get it out of that shit and whack it in a big fuck off saucepan, cover it with cold water and bring it to the boil then ease it off and simmer for a couple of minutes. Then you take it out and drain it then throw it back in the saucepan cover with cold water again then put in the bay leaves, onion quartered, whole garlic cloves and the mustard powder then bring it to the boil, back it off and simmer for about 2 ½ hours turn it round a bit and you may have to add more water and it’s done slice that fucker up.

Alright, all the vegetables, with an hour to go on the beef, chop up the potatoes into roasting portions and throw ‘em in some water then in the microwave for about 8 mins. Then throw them in a pre-heated oven at 200c with the chopped up carrots and a drizzle of olive oil and salt n pepper.

Cabbage, slice it up and with about 15 minutes to go on the beef, throw it in a super hot fry-pan with a heap of olive oil and salt n pepper and fry it up til it’s a nice cabbage stir-fry.

White sauce, when everything is done, in a small saucepan melt the butter over a low heat then add the corn flour, then with a whisk, whisk it round until it’s a paste, then add the milk keep whisking until it’s a smooth consistency, add a whole lot of salt and even more pepper, done.

Serve.
