February 27th 2008 05:45
Well it seems everyone wants to be awesome.
Due to an overwhelming demand for my awesome recipes I have decided to bust one out now. I was going to continue with basic training, but it seems all you losers need to be awesome... right now!!
Some of you might be thinking ‘how can this idiot be calling me a loser’. Well I’ll tell you why, it’s because I’m awesome, and when you’re awesome, you can call everyone losers. You will only become awesome once you have mastered one of my awesome recipes, and you email me and tell me I truly am awesome. Then and only then will you get the seal of approval from the most awesome dude on the planet... me, Awesome Dude. Then I will state to every one of my devoted followers that I am in awe of you, that you are awe inspiring, that you are truly... AWESOME.
Awesomeness flows through my blood, it’s like the force that controls my actions and my emotions. When I concocted this recipe I felt a chill up my spine, it was like the awesomeness somehow knew that I was creating something brilliant, something awesome.
Here it is
AWESOME DUDES AWESOME BEEF CURRY.
You will need-
1kg of casserole beef (the cheap stuff)
2 medium onions
5 cloves of garlic
2 chillies
2 cans of diced tomatoes (400gm cans)
Small yogurt (200mls or so)
2 cups of rice
Vegetable oil
Fresh or dried Coriander
Water
And these spices- turmeric, ground cumin, ground coriander, ginger powder, and of course salt n pepper
Now if you haven’t followed “Basic Training (step one) you can just use some Clive of India Hot Madras curry powder or some kind of curry powder in place of the spices. Preferably Hot.
Chop the beef in to chunks, say 2 cm cubes, brown in fry pan and set aside.
Get the chillis and the garlic and either put them in a mini food processer or mortar and pestle. (I find with both methods it’s best to chop the chilli and garlic a little to aid in the pulverising) smash or chop until it’s like a paste then add 2 table spoons of turmeric, ground cumin, ground coriander and 1 table spoon of ginger powder and some salt n pepper and a table spoon of oil. Combine til dry and paste like... like a curry paste.
Chop onions roughly, then get big pot, heat it up then throw in the curry paste. Fry until fragrant then toss in onions, cook until translucent stirring regularly. Alright, add the beef now, stir around then add the 2 cans tomatoes stir around, get the cans fill them ¾ full of water and swish around to get the last remaining juice, now pour over beef, if it does not cover the beef add more water. Bring to boil, reduce heat cook uncovered for 2 frigging hours stir every 15 mins or so.
The reason you cook it for at least 2 hours is, if you don’t, it won’t be awesome. You got that.
Now cook your rice
Serve... whack some rice in the bowl, then some curry, then a couple of dollops of yogurt, then some coriander on top.
As for a bedroom secret from Awesome Dude, I wouldn’t go near the “back door” if you know what I mean. Wink Wink Nudge Nudge
Now be awesome.
