Awesome Dudes Awesome Spaghetti Bolognese
March 31st 2008 07:30
You know, sometimes I wonder if there will be anyone as awesome as me, and then I think, no there couldn’t possibly be anyone that awesome. If there were, well they’d probably be superman or someone like that. You know special powers, x-ray vision, that kind of thing.
So yeah, spaghetti Bolognese, it’s a favourite with just about anyone who thinks they can cook, and they always tell you “ya gotta taste my spaghetti Bolognese it’s friggin awesome”. A lot of the time all they do is buy a jar of Bolognese sauce, brown some mince and then the onion (WRONG) slap in the jar of sauce and they think they’re Italian.
Now I know mine isn’t authentic, but well, it is awesome!!
Alright losers this is what you need-
About 600gm of mince
2 chorizo sausages (I know chorizo’s are Spanish too.) you could use salami also.
One red onion
One capsicum
Three cups of button mushrooms sliced
5 cloves of garlic
One green chilli
2 400gm cans of crushed tomatoes
About 100gm of tomato paste
Splash of olive oil
Couple of teaspoons of dried oregano
One packet of linguini pasta (awesome chick likes linguini better than spaghetti, and like I said in an earlier post “ she is the boss” no matter how many times I toss her through a window)
This is what you do-
Chop your chorizo’s roughly and throw in a super hot pan and brown a bit, you won’t need any oil cos chorizo’s are awesomely fatty. (Now you don’t need the chorizo in it if you don’t like fermented meat, but I’m a man, an awesome man) Chop your garlic, onion and chilli and throw them in with the chorizo, splash in some olive oil to get it sizzling just a bit more. Fry it for a couple of minutes.
Alright, throw in the mince now, get it in there and break it up and stir it round good. When it’s browned whack in the mushies and cappo (yes I have nick names for veggies) stir that round a bit then pour in the two cans of crushed tommies, then half fill both cans with water, swish it round a bit and pour it in, then throw in the tommy paste, stir it round bring to boil then turn down heat season with salt and pepper (lots of pepper) and simmer for about half an hour or until desired thickness. Then throw in the oregano.
Pasta, cook it like it says on the packet (al dente)
BANG, it’s done.
Serve. Whack on some parmesan.

..the vegies are importat for the poo, dude... radical!
But I like this one and can modify it to suit... gnarly, awesome use of the Chirozo here dude.
Add fome broccoli florrettes, peas and carrots... oooh or maybe some Zucchini and mushrooms - maybe all of them and it would very bodacious.
Thanks for the awesome idea, dude.
