Basic Training (step one)
February 26th 2008 12:14
This is your first step towards awesomeness; there will be many on the way. You may choose not to follow these steps. To that, all I can say is “You’re weak and you will never be awesome”
Now, where to start...
Yes, I’m awesome. The reason I’m so awesome is I make food into my bitch. Animals are scared of me, they think I might chop them up and make a nice dog curry. I wouldn’t do that, I have a dog and he is nearly as awesome as me.
Alright, first step- Buy some frigging spices. That’s right, load up on ‘em.
Paprika, Hungarian sweet Paprika, Sage, Cayenne pepper, ground Ginger, ground Coriander, ground Cumin, Turmeric, Chinese 5 spice, Chilli powder, Onion powder and/or flakes, Garlic powder and/or granules, curry powder, Sumac, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, basically everything you can get your grubby little hands on.
Now, get some dried herbs.
Parsley, Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, Coriander leaves, Dill, Cloves, and Bay leaves, you know, all that jazz.
Some people will say fresh herbs are the best. I won’t argue, but I will say this. I’m a man and as a man I need things ready when I need them, and I’m not big on watering plants.
So now you know what has got to be in your spice rack. Soon you will know your first awesome recipe... soon you will be awesome!!!
